Daily 411 – YouTube offers…royalty-free music? FINALLY

The 411 is your daily dose of news relating to online culture! YouTube has been instrumental in helping amateur filmmakers, experts, citizen journalists and generally anyone who wants to create video content find a home on the web to find and build their audiences. But almost every YouTuber has, at one point of another, most likely run into the much despised video takedown due to the use of copyrighten tracks. So YouTube has decided to take the next step in providing a new service to make it even EASIER for its users to create more and more content – a library of 150 license-free songs. Hallelujah.

Here are some links to web-related happenings you NEED to know about:

I'm a journalist, producer and host who thought I would get into "traditional" broadcasting until the lusty call of the Internet drew me in. I've been fortunate enough to have launched 10 web series about a wide range of niches, like: Greek culture, Wines, India and Battlestar Galactica (BSGcast FTW!). But these days I love being one-half of Nat&Marie, exploring Internet Culture and dissecting how the web affects IRL and vice versa. Instagram's my vice and Technoviking is my home boy!
